Some interesting results and a possible record for a Ferrari 550 Maranello at Historics’ March sale

Historics’ first auction of the year produced some bargains, some great results and a surprise or two.

The winners

A Jensen FF made a mighty £78,400 and a Ferrari 550 Maranello WSR (World Speed Record) an impressive £179,200 – we can’t remember one selling for so much at auction so expect a record to be claimed. An Alfa 2600 by Touring and a Maserati Khamsin also performed very well.

The losers

An Alfa Romeo Montreal failed to sell against a sensible estimate. We were certainly surprised given the hype around these cars at the moment.

The well-bought

These included a Series 1 4.2 E-type, a DeLorean, and a Ferrari 250 GTO recreation amongst others. Click on the Pinterest board below for more details.
