About the Riley 2.5:

The Riley 2.5 litre engine arrived in 1938 and was their most powerful engine up to this point. The 4 cylinder 2.5 litre unit became known as the ‘Big 4′, ’16/4’ and ‘Blue Streak’. This new engine was reputed to have the efficiency of an overhead cam engine and a rating of 16 horsepower, although the horsepower figures are the traditional RAC Rating, and bear no relationship to bhp or kW) .

The Adelphi, Kestrel and Continental Saloon bodied cars were all collectively known as Riley 16/4.

About this Riley 2.5 Supercharged Sports

This Riley was commissioned by an enthusiast who desired a Riley fit for any occasion. It was destined to occupy garage space alongside a brace of Coventry 2.5 litre’s.

Starting with a 1938 Coventry built 2.5 litre Adelphi chassis, Beaufort Restoration began the long process of transforming the car into the ultimate Riley.

Built over 36 months with a build cost of over £200,000, this Riley 2.5 Supercharged Sports now boasts 224bhp. It has been built with incredible attention to detail, with neat touches such as the lift up runner boards to allow better access when climbing in and out. The car also benefits from secure hidden storage underneath the floor in the rear. A recent rolling road report confirmed the 224.5 bhp, with max power and torque peaking at 118.5 mph.

Thanks to the extensive restoration and development, this Riley is a beautiful machine to behold and beyond impressive to drive.

The perfect chance to finance the ultimate Supercharged Blue Streak two-seater.
