About the Mercedes-Benz 300SL:
Arriving in 1971 and replacing the W113 ‘Pagoda’, the R107 SL was an instant success, remaining in production for an impressive 17 years.
With a choice of six-cylinder and V8 engines, the range changed little other than a significant improvement in 1986. These later cars have improved handling and braking, and better driver equipment. It is these late model cars that command the biggest prices.
About this Mercedes-Benz 300SL:
This is a September 1989 car on a G registration, making it one of the very last R107 SLs to leave the production line. It’s replacement, the R129 SL was first shown at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show).
It has been with the same family from new, passing from the father to another family member until 2017.
Originally purchased by a collector to enhance his collection, he now feels that the car deserves to be enjoyed.
A comprehensive history file is present with the car, with MOTs dating back to 1992. Service entries in the service book are limited as the mileage is so exceptionally low! The car also benefits from a professional waxoil and rust protection in 2007, a certificate of which is present in the service file for the car.
In a very royal colour combination, this is a rare chance to secure an exceptional R107 SL.
Not sure if an R107 SL is for you? Maybe Harry Metcalfe can help, he owns one:
“Very rare to find in this specification and with this mileage.”
“Just 12,000 miles from new and in what appears to be superb condition all round. Another great SL from the team at The SL Shop”
