Porsche 993 GT2 sells for £1.85 million in London

This year we have seen auction results level out as they inevitably run out of the very best cars to sell. This has lead many people to assume that the market is cooling and in some respects they are right. However, the best of the best continues to sell well and appreciate in value.

After a steady performance in Monterey, the UK Super September auctions have served up a few surprises – most noticeably the sale of a collection of exceptional limited-production Porsches at RM Sotheby’s London sale on Wednesday.

A road legal 993 GT2 from the collection – one of 57 – was sold for an incredible £1,848,000 with premium against an estimate of £750,000 – 850,000. To put some perspective on it Gooding & Company sold a similar car at their Amelia Island sale in March 2016 for $973,500 although it did have a higher mileage.
